Anything that bites. Last year after some 50 rainbows I figured how I miss the bite of other species. Even perch, for their own weight, are great fighters. I really like the channge from one species to another.

i voted for bass  , especially small mouth i just love the fight they give. As many have mentioned i could easily have voted for all species as well it's good to try and target other species as well ;)

should have a poll for favorite species each season. For the guys who do, we cant steelhead all year round although I wish we could! hhaha

Large Mouth Bass on Topwaters! Pike & Muskie on whatever They Want. They're Predators and will take a run at anything!

YES! I know. Basically ALL Fish are Predators.

Browns 100%.

the unicorn...managed to land one...never again...if i ever catch one again, there will probably tears in my eyes...you don't know how important things are until after 10 minutes of letting them go...

I agree, anything that bites! I was hitting smallies and Pike all summer on top water...love it! My PB (4 1/2lbs) this summer hit it hard enough to come 2 feet straight out of the water...scared the crap out of me!

Well, it seems steelhead is most popular on here. Not surprising based on location, I'd be fishing 'em too if they were up this way. I Can't say I've ever caught one, but I've hooked a few big rainbows in lake ontario. I voted Walleye, b/c I like a challenging catch and I'm hungry but I love bass fishing and big pike too!

For some reason I am unable to vote at the moment. I am noticing a total lack of respect for Brookies/Specks in the results tho. I would assume that is because any spots in S. On that hold them are top secret. And that most haven't got to northern On. Que and NL. to fish for this great fish. A 5 lb Brookie fights as hard as a 5 lb Chrome, but fights smarter, a Speck will always use the current to it's advantage, Chrome not so much.
My list after Specks. Chrome, Pinks, Smallies, Gar, Channel Cats, Carp, Browns, Pike and Bowfin, not necessarily in that order.

Alfie.

Hard for me to pick a favourite, like getin said I like the change from one to another.

Steelies are available in huge numbers, fight like crazy and look incredible especially in the fall, so they are definitely among my favourites.

I do like your point about walleye though, they are elusive and always elicit some excitement from me when I catch them. I love their colours, green, white and golden. They don't fight much but are always a treat to catch, and would definitely be among my top choices. Now if only they tasted awful, there would be more of them swimming around and they would be easier to catch!
