new blades are at the bait store, under the counter waiting for me. couple days after the Simcoe GTG my Gout in my right foot started acting up bad and it put my out of the game for 3 days just getting caught up on house work today (fire wood), with any luck I am hitting the ice tomorrow. friend just got a 6 men portable, we are picking it up tomorrow then trying it out, I beleive he said perch On the G-bay, if not lake trout on Lake Ross, heard he got a 5 pounder 2 days ago over that way. :) with 12 inch of ice near Port Sandfield

If you've got gout don't eat trout----seriously!

it varies every year in different spots, but seriously i wouldn't drive out, lots of white ice and who knows what could happen, parking is free and easy access, don't wanna be the first one to go through there. Im actually pretty sure the reason it opens so late is actually because of the unsafe ice but who knows.

Not quite sure where you get your info bowslayer, but most years its ok to drive on lake joe. The first few years when I started fishing joe around 2002 or so there were plowed roads on the lake and I was able to even take my car out. With that being said who knows what the ice is like this year with all the snow up there.
