I get close to 100 days for the 9 hot months of the year starting with fall salmon, fall steel, winter steel, spring steel. August to May in the rivers. June July and the first half of August suck, because I don't have a boat or a cottage, and just am generally busy doing other things.

Quick report. Headed up north Monday morning for yesterday and today. I got out a couple of times with my buddy, family friend (who is 10 years old) for an hour or two stints at a time. Morning, Day, Night... took advantage of it all. Muskoka is a HUGE body of water. Pros ... lunkers can kick around for ever and can hide their whole lives.... Cons... good luck findings them, or anything for that matter sometimes.

I ended up with a decent smallie, a small pike (however I like to think its no hammer handle..) which I got ON THE PIN .. one of the coolest fishing experiences I have had, and I got a beauty eye. For a day of fishing, I am stoked. And then, our last outing just before dinner today, my buddy who was facing a big ol' skunk proved Quality > Quantity. I will let the last picture speak for itself!

And then this was all on his own. 27" 11lb walleye. He is hooked for life. Unreal. I am so happy for him that he was able to hook this, fight it for about 5 minutes and we got it in. If this isn't worth a thousand words I don't know what is. Feels good man.

Amazing the little dood got that! Sometimes I swear I find myself getting more excited about my son or wife hooking into a sunfish than I am about landing a steelie.

Those sun glasses need to stop tho. Who ever brought them back in style shoulda brought the parachute pants aswell.

No e-beef intended just humor!

Great catches!

Nice report! It must have been awesome seeing him land that monster, he had a good guide! Looks like you got a new fishing partner. :D
The smallie and pike look healthy, nice colours. Mmmmmm, for me walleye are the best tasting fish, but I only eat them, when my uncle or grandfather keep them... I bet, you ate good! Your a jack of all trades fishing, you can go from on the river chasing steelies, to on the lake chasing monster walleye. Impressive.

GT awesome catches but your smile doesn't equate as much when you caught your steelies.lol.
