I have had a couple of bamboo fly rod blanks for a few years now and while I know I can pick up rings handle reel seat ,my biggest problem is the ferules for attaching each piece ,the blanks are completely unfinished apart from flaming and varnish .
How do you measure the size for the ferules and do you sand shave the tips to make them fit ?
Or do you put them back in the Rod case for a few more years,
The small blank is a 6-9" 2 pce 3 wt and the other is a 7-9" 4-5 wt with extra tip so two male ferules and one female would be required for this one.
Actually a third option is to see if any one knows someone who does this type of thing so I can get in touch with them.
