First Humber steelhead (ever)

First steelhead on the Humber, first time out. It was a bit like fishing in chocolate milk, so I guess this fish has a really good nose. It sure isn't huge. Maybe I should have gone looking for suckers...

Nice steelie their Marc! Glad you got your first steelie on the humber. I still need to get my first in general haha. Congrats!! :D
 
Nice! where you on the island or east bank?did you fish that long flat piece towards the train bridge? they can sit all the way back when the water is up. bait or fly/jig?

They can be very tough to get at the location.
Over the next couple of weeks .... using worms will get you either: Suckers or BOWs


Great to get out and enjoy the water.

Roe - technically I was 1 for 2. I lost a much bigger one (naturally) and missed a few good strikes that I'll consider "site-specific calibration."

Congrats on the first fish Marc, Good to see some nice steelhead are being caught on the Humber lately. There should be drop backs being caught soon.
