First Married Wing Spey

Thanks. The Married wings are kind of cool to play around with. I learn something new with every fly. While I know some like to display flies, I love to fish mine. Gives me an excuse to tie the next one.

Nice tie! Try compressing the wing fibres a bit more to avoid the collapsed wing at the base. (BTW, not to nit-pick but I would call that more of a wet than a spey)

Ck that's a traditional Spey fly and great tie swift I'd love to fish that
A true spey should have it's wings very low, almost flat:

It's way too big to be a wet but the position of it's wings is more like a wet or a classic married wing:

Still a very nice tie!

Your right about the wing position, its a learning curve.
I was thinking more freestyle classic Married then true spey. Those photo's are awesome.

Question, is there a name difference between the flat wing in the top photo vs the 'V' shaped wing orientation. One of them would be a be a 'D' spey I believe.

Wrong cc, lady Caroline is about the most classic spey out there, the ackroyd is a dee, my favourite to look at. Btw, those are not my ties.
