What fish have you caught on the fly and what was\is your favorite/most productive fly to use for them?

I have caught:

  • Small/Largemouth Bass (Marabu Leach\Muddler Minnow),
  • Freshwater Drum (Eggsucking Leach),
  • Carp (White Boobie\Hares Ear Nymph),
  • Sucker (Hares Ear Nymph\Stonefly Nymph),
  • Rockbass (Muddler Minnow/Wooly Bugger),
  • Sunfish (Nymphs\Poppers),
  • Yellow Perch (Muddler Minnow\Wooly Bugger),
  • White Perch (Muddler Minnow),
  • White Bass (Muddler Minnow\Black Marabu Leach),
  • Shortnose Gar (Muddler Minnow\Marabu Streamer),
  • Northern Pike (Deer Hair Streamers\Muddler Minnow),
  • Black/White Crappie (Nymphs\Streamers),
  • Pacific Salmon (Muddler Minnows\Nymphs),
  • Atlantic Salmon (Muddler Minnow),
  • Rainbow Trout (Muddler Minnow\Egg Sucking Leach),
  • Brown Trout (Muddler Minnow\Crayfish),
  • Brook Trout (Nymphs\Streamers),
  • Bigmouth Buffalo (Stonefly Nymph),
  • Channel Catfish (Muddler Minnow\Wooly Bugger),
  • Bowfin (Bucktail Streamer),
  • Walleye (Muddler Minnow\Mixed Leach Patterns),
and of course Baitfish as well.

Look forward to reading what others have caught and what productive patterns they have used...

I think this is a great post, espically for someone still new to fly fishing like me. I'll get the chance to see what works for those who chose to reply this and what fish.

for my my list is nice and small lol:

Largmouth Bass: Mouse

Ladyfish - clouser
flounder - clouser
Sea trout - clouser
Redfish - Clouser
Steelhead- minnow fly, stones, woolie buggers
Salmon - mostly minnows, sometimes nymphs
pompano - clouser
Bluefish - clouser
brookies - adams, hares ear, any dry flies work
Rainbow trout from lakes - scuds, chyronamids in black with red throat
smallies - nymphs wooly buggers, minnow flies
Carp - white yarn (looks like bread) wooly buggers, nymphs
Pike - poppers, minnow flies
