Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum. Thank you all for providing those SUPER useful information. You guys are AWESOME.
Anyways....so i went fishing with my brother at Bluffers Park today (March 14, 2009) at around 11 am. Me and brother were using different type of lures. we tried deep crank with slow retrieve for an hour and half....no action at all. Then out of no where, I saw a bunch of minnows jumped out of water, and a DARK SHADOW was right behind them. So i noticed that it must be a pike. i cast towards the spot with my crank, slowly cranking it. Nothing hits...so i tried a couple more...no luck. then after about 15 min, my brother right beside me, using a medium size plastic swimbait / swim jig??? with a spinning set up felt something hit the bait, so he set the hook. I was like "nice try buddy, that's gotta be a rock or some garbage"(cause he always does that kind of trick, trying to get me excited, that's why i didn't believe him). BUT this time is not trick, he actually caught something, it's a PIKE. He took 10 min to bring the fish up cause he was using a 6 lb testline with a ultra light rod. The fish is around 6-7 lb, with a huge stomach, very healthy. We took a couple pictures, then we released it. then we fish for 1 more hour, no luck, so we decided to call it a day.
