Fishing by locks

Just wondering..is bass fishing generally good in the vicinity of the trent-severn waterway locks?

there are fish for sure, other day was driving there, saw some guys with rods parking their cars on the side of the highway.

Simple answer: Yes.

The smallmouth action can be dynamite.

Yes the action can be good. Go to Hastings on a weekend and see the people on the bridge and along any of the concrete walls, action can be crazy.

I have fished from the river mouth up to lock 13. There is alot of pressure on the Trent. The fact that game fish take many years to attain decent size the Trent needs catch and release of larger fish. I have taken some smallies out of there but rarely see anyone pull anything large out. I've gone out several times just for fishing and come home empty handed, it could be my own fault by not adapting to conditions but there are less fish there. Give it a try maybe you will have better luck.
