Hello everyone. First post on here. I'm from Pa and have done a trip to Percy Boom for 10 years (skipped last year). We are going back there the end of September but I would like to try a different place to fish a day or two. I really enjoy fishing rivers and would mainly be interested in fishing for quality northerns or muskie. The map that I have shows the Moira and Crowe river would be within decent driving distance for a day trip. Also sections of the Trent that connect different lakes. I should probably mention I have a 16ft boat with a 40hp jet so I can get in some shallow water with it but not looking to take any crazy risks with it.

I'm certainly not expecting everyone to give me their secret spots but any information to point me in the right direction as far as decent stretches of water that has a boat launch would be great. If I lived closer I would just explore all those places and not even ask for help. If anyone would reccomend fishing some lakes in that area I'd be open to that as well.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Your about a stones throw away from the Kawartha Lakes - you'll be hard pressed to find pike as there are none, but some good muskie, walleye and bass waters that way. You can try the popular and pressured Rice Lake, but I prefer travelling North a bit to Buckhorn, Stoney, PIgeon Lake. Speed trolling spinnerbaits, maraboos and Jakes through weedbeds is the ticket.

I highly recommend Buckhorn Lake purely based on my experience on this body of water

Rice Lake will give you a great fishing outing.

Can catch Perch, small and large mouth bass, musky, crappie, sunfish, catfish, carp, rockbass, walleye, bluegill..........

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been by Rice lake before but never fished it. I didi fish Pigeon lake once. I'm really looking for some river fishing though. I called the MNR in Peterborough and they suggested the Otonobee river. He also suggested where to find some mapbooks. I'll keep looking for info on that and probably the Moira. Thanks for the help and I really like this board with all the fishing info.

Tight lines!

MIke
