Ever get that feeling that you should cast out the rod?
At the cottage, standing at the fireplace talking with my Dad and my girlfriend. About 10pm. Walked away in the middle of the conversation and grabbed my rod. Threw out my all time favorite hula popper and wha bam! Literally the second it touched the water, just under 5 lbs smallie.
Hooked deep... bleeding everywhere... so it turns into a fish fry. I leave him in the sink and run back for another and sure enough... his little buddy must have been hungry too. Next cast, one pop and a strike... 3 1/2 lb to join the first one.
Sometimes you just gotta trust your gut.
Fish were taken in the Haliburton area.

Nice fish! Did you weigh those? Cause imo I wouldn't estimate those as 5 and 3 1/2 lbers. Anyway those are nice smallies.

Lol my bad, my work computer was messing with me I gave up and just hit send after 10 mins of frustration

Yes sir, the bigger one was FAT, 2.2 kilos, the smaller was just under 1.5 kilos... These fish eat healthy
