Hey all... I'm going to be up in Thornbury for the week overlapping August and September. Where are there some good spots to fish, what kind of fish can I expect, and what should I use to fish for them? Kind of new at this! Thanks!

I can't help you much with the end of Aug. and early Sept. There are salmon in the fall and good steelheading in the winter and spring. All I can suggest is that you might hook into something near the mouth of the river if the weather stays on the cool side and we get some rain. I would imagine there are bass in the river, even tho I have not seen any caught. I have not really been there at the right time of year for bass. Some areas do look very bassy to me. Maybe even some pike.

Alfie.

Yes, the river below the dam, accessable from the marina is good for fly fishing. Also the shore just east of Craigleith Provincial Park is popular (use roe there)
