to complain call 416 338 5058 now....its the City of Toronto Parks complaint line

to all trout and salmon fishermen its not about the shorline of lake ontario any more...you are banned from fishing old mill on the humber...any park along the humber or don rivers....or city of toronto property

are you going to remain quite now or will i now get your support???

wow????? thats crazy dude????????????? could be good for the fishery though then they reopen it to fishing in 5 years and there are some actuall runs again

Couldn't agree more.. I just hope that it will benefit us as well as our fishery in a long run..

Why fish off-shore / off-docks / off the city's edges and fringes of Lake Ontario, where fish have been living (dining) in polluted waters? It may have been safer eating those fishes "decades" ago in "Dayz of Yore", way back when ... however, not so much now. With the burdening of increased population / creation of more human waste ... and did you know that drugs from birth control meds are not 100% filtered out of Toronto's drinking water ... so, guys - you're ingesting female hormones when drinking Toronto's, etc., TAP water? ... it's not as "safe" THESE days, consumable-wise; unless you go WAY out, OFF shore - deeper into "clean" / not-as-polluted waters for "fresher", cleaner fish

Good luck with that. If this situation doesn't get fixed soon, there will be no reopening of fishing a year from now let alone 5 years from now. Even if the "actual runs" manage to get bigger, you wont be enjoying them in the city limits.

Now that this situation is happening right now, its time to act and make our voices heard, not hoping for the best years from now, which by then there will be no politically motivation for them to allow fishing again as the drive to unban fishing by then will be so small it would be nothing but a faint whisper.

Anglers should get together and organize bus trips to the eastern tributaries where they can still fish. TO anglers must create fishing opportunities for themselves now they can no longer fish in public parks. Are the Islands still available to fish?

Is this ban still place? I've haven't fished Toronto Waterfront in years, and have noticed the lack of fishermen. Every other city I've been to has no issue with people fishing the waterfront? So why is this such an issue here in TOronto... Can't be good for tourism I'll say, oh wait nevermind.. The condos littering the shoreline like a patch of crab grass and dandelions has already ruined that..
