Oh, come on!!

Talking about getting some random woman charged for being outspoken... Get real. Clearly, both parties are wrong! Ridiculous!!

A real thread would have had video of the OP making fun of this wench.

Good Post Grubman!! With the possibble exception of .........
"A real thread would have had video of the OP making fun of this wench." Ridiculous?? ...... You Won!!! ;)

ALSO ....... Hang on a Minute ......

there's a lot of morons out there.

Some things I've been told while fishing, in no particular order

- You can't keep bass that size for eating (fishing near Bancroft, having a fish fry with 1/4 lb bass)
- It is illegal to use stringers in tributaries in the Durham Region, because then COs think you are picking and choosing your fish (Bowmanville Creek)
- You can't have skein on you, because COs will assume you just took eggs from a hen and discarded the fish (Wilmot Creek)

:D

I had a fun experience back in the late 70s at Port Dalhousie in the falls (before it became Crime of the Century to fish there).

It was November while the inland trout season was closed, the season was "open all year" in the 12 Mile Creek up to Lakeshore Road aka "the falls" where we were fishing.

So buddy and I are fishing away (we skipped class) and we had two nice rainbows we were keeping for dinner, maybe 7 lbs each. Out of the blue a tall lanky man with greased back hair/Clark Gable mustache and a stocky sidekick approach us and tell us that they are "with the MNR" but as citizens who are "helping them out". No uniforms, no ID. They tell us that the trout are out of season and they are going to confiscate them. We argued that the season is open, read the regs. They wouldn't hear it and took the trout AND wrote us a receipt for them WHICH I STILL HAVE!!!

We were kids, we let them walk all over us. No badge, a crappy station wagon and a receipt! It was so odd.

Years later I would see the "tall lanky one" out at the Maple Leaf Gun Club but i never asked him "what the heck was that all about???"

When we got home we called the outdoor editior for the St. Catharines Standard, Gerry Wolfram, and told him the story. He was dumbfounded.

Oh the odd folk we meet in the pursuit of our passion....

*whew* I was waiting for FishHawk..... he's a live and well!

Thanks Dugger. Your "Being Aware" is Much Appreciated!!

Although anything past "Alive" at this point is debatable. BUT!! Life Is, What Life Is!!

Also thank you for the LINK on Invasive/Endangered Species on another post.

I spent a good Hour on there documenting some of the Species. Much to my surprize "Earthworms" are considered Invasive and they detailed why.

Soooooo Much we don't know. "Life Is For Learning" is an Understatement!!

Also saw my Most Favourite Animal. The Wolverine! What a Beautiful Beast To Behold!! They say Pound For Pound nothing can touch Him/Her. A member of the Weasel Family.

Maybe I could Buy a young one at a Pet Store. Domesticate him. Walk him on a Leash. Take him to the Dog Park .......

HEY! Where did all the other Dogs Disappear to???

Thanks Again Buddy!!

Rick

PS: "Grubman". Sorry to go so far "Off Topic". Perhaps the INFO will be interestng to Others.

Then I remembered one memeber here mention that it is illegal to prevent a person from fishing or hunting legally. Does anyone know which law that is?

Fish & Wildlife Act 1997

Obstruction of hunting, trapping or fishing

13. (1) A person shall not interfere with lawful hunting, trapping or fishing by,

a) tampering with traps, nets, bait, firearms or any other thing used for hunting, trapping or fishing;

b ) placing himself or herself in a position, for the purpose of interfering, that hinders or prevents hunting, trapping or fishing; or

c) engaging in an activity, for the purpose of interfering, that disturbs or is likely to disturb wildlife or fish.

Notice without authority

(2) A person shall not purport to give notice that entry to premises is prohibited for the purpose of hunting or fishing or that hunting or fishing is prohibited on premises unless the person has authority to give the notice. 1997, c. 41, s. 13.

I have two copies of that printed out and I keep them in my fishing vest. One to present to anyone who gives me trouble, and if they destroy it I have another to give the cop or CO I would call to the scene. Haven't needed to use them yet.

No prob Rick.

We haven't been "on Topic" much here anyways........lol. Racoon poop for my paintball gun, women hitting on me while I'm concentrating on fishing.......lol. And now Wolverine (the animal) I like the X-Men character too.......lol.

From what I remember of doc's like Wild Kingdom, I think it only reaches about 50-80 lbs, while a black bear will be in the hundreds. But the Wolverine is so ill tempered that even the black bear is scared of it. Never judge temperment according to size....lol.

Sorry about giving you a hard time in the other post. Hope all is good.

I guess I'll never find that law that protects anglers and hunters....... But atleast we are having fun here. Bring on the ugly women, I got my rod in my hand..........lol........ :p

Dude! We got two things in common for sure! I love fishing, you love fishing. You love wolverines I love wolverines! :D

I remember I first heard of the wolverine when I was in grade 3 or 4 and we all had to come up with the most deadliest animal.

Dave thank you so much. That's a great idea keeping copies on you. I highly doubt any cop will know this. I plan to do the same and I think all OFF members should too.

Thanks again.

OFF is such a great site, what really makes it great are the contributing members such as yourself and so many others. From day one, I have always found the atmosphere here to be positive involvement in assisting others to learn more about our sport. We all share the same passion, we may have different views but in the end we want each other to succeed and relish in each other's achievements. The dissagreements, arguements and comments are not indications of how divided we are, on the contrary, it shows how much we are all really "Birds of a feather".

I'm with you on this. OFF is a great site and each of the members is an individual, and may have their own opinions on any given issue. We all can agree to disagree on certain things.
I personally find the discussions here fascinating. I am enlightened about issues I may not agree with at times and have even changed my opinion on occasion after reading some serious discussions.
We have many intelligent members of the forum and some who like to stir the pot. It makes for very interesting and educational discussion.
I have personally only met 2 members in person and fished with them. Both meetings resulted in a good time. I can't wait until next week end to meet more members of the forum, do some fishing and maybe sit down and have a beer at the end of the day beside the Saugeen. We are "Birds of a feather."

Alfie.
