Not sure if this is the right forum to post this as this is my first time on the site. I am interested in planning a 3-4 day fishing trip in Ontario but am overwhelmed with the number of lakes and regions to fish in. I live in the US near Philadelphia, and would like to find a relatively remote area that is not too far from the Toronto area (would like to spend more time fishing vs. driving). I am interested in fishing for Walleye, pike, etc. and was hoping to stay in a more rustic place (e.g. dont need a resort type place) for a few days.

Any suggestions or advice are welcome.

Thanks

Do a search on Kawartha Lake Fishing, couple of hours from Toronto. Not much pike, but there are musky, walleye and bass. Balsam, Pigeon and Buckhorn are good bets.

To be honest i'd extend the driving range a bit. The fishing, wildlife, prices of cottages(offset by gas though) will all be better further north. I'd sugest the biscotising lake area north of sudbury(7hr north of toronto), or temagami(4hr north).
