Does anyone use those Rubber nets for fishing? I have heard that the lures don't catch in the net and it's better for the fish.

I want to pick up a new rubber net and a cradle net. I have an old regular net.

My friend has a rubber cradle net and he loves it...I myself have never used one...but I hear good things!

rubber nets are the best, lures never get caught, the one I have is not very deep which could pose a problem if I'm ever lucky enough to ever catch a large pike or hopefully soon my first ever muskie. I recommend one of these nets although maybee buy a larger sized one.

Rubber nets are awesome to use. I threw a huge bait into mine for about 20 mins. or so, and everytime I walked over and picked it right out, no problem. I like them also because they keep the fish from getting hung up, which is terrible for the fish. They prevent fin splits, which is crucial for the fish. Another thing is they keep a lot of the pike slime in the net, rather than having it scraped away like the mesh nets. I try and put the pike back in the way I brought him out, and the rubber net lets me do that a little more easy.

Even though I do not have a rubber net, the one thing that concerns me is the depth of the net. It does not look like it is suitable for pike or other large fish because of the depth and the general shape. What do you think?

Mine has a very deep basket to it, landing a fish is not an even an issue. You can buy them pretty much any place they sell standard nets.
