Fishing rods cheaper in winter???

Hey was just wondering are fishing rods cheaper in the winter than summer. I figure not that much people fish in winter so they lower the prices? any answers?

i know it's true at canadian tire but i don't know about anywhere else

if you want really cheap go to walmart, they have 2 rod&reel combos, one goes for $3 and the other at $5.
good brand names always stray same price unless there is some clearance sale, and even then you would only save few dollars.

Usually you will find more deals during the winter then other months, Bass pro's biggest sale starts March 6th.....

LOL no no i dont want a rod and reel combo, i was planning on buying the shimano convergence rod and wanted to see if during the winter they lower the price or if its the same throughout the whole year.

not sure about seasons, I doubt prices change from season though.
2008 models are cheaper now?
and for sure if you bought a rod in 2008 you would have been much happier as most prices went up for 2009.
