Hey guys,

I was wondering if you have any advice for fishing at the Toronto islands. So far, I've only fished around snake island. Haven't caught anything other then some very small bass, perch, sunfish and gobies.

I was wondering where I can find large pike, carp, bass etc. Are there any good spots that consistently have fish all the time? I plan on using minnows and worms, do Pike strike on medium sized minnows?

Thanks.

I have not been out to the islands in a "Couple of weeks" ....

Some of the conditions change real fast: ie weed growth, water temps etc
and we have had some nice Thunder Storms lately (When you consider back a month ago, we had NO PRECIP)

Anyway, my recommendation would be this:

Take the WARD's ISLAND ferry and then head EAST (past the park and soccer field) down to the EAST WALL (Deep Channel across from the old Rochester Ferry Term)

On the SOUTH SIDE (City of Toronto) you will find a Break Wall that runs out into the deep water (Left side shallow= Carp), Right side deep with boulders.
This is where the SMALL MOUTH BASS were hanging out.

*At the time (Couple of weeks ago) I did not find ANY BASS of SIZE in the inner channels of Centre Island. (See my BABY BOWFIN REPORT0

If you go down the NORTH SIDE of the EAST WALL, you can see over to Tommy Thompson Park and all the dead Trees. That's where about 10,000 Cormorants nest!

I believe the DEEP WATER will hold better opportunities in this hot weather.
Worst case scenario, work your way back to Centre island and fish the Weedy Canals.

Sometimes you never know where the Dam Bass & Pike are sitting! .... lol

Good Luck!

Blair, I've been over two or three times since we were there. Both the channel and the south wall seem to be best late in the day, once it starts getting dark. North end nearest the city was really milky water, but the south end of the channel had a defined water line and a nice surprise!
