FISHING THE GRAND (HELP!)

Hi there, been fishing ponds and such scattered across branford-Cambridge area with loads of luck, how ever i have only caught ONE fish on the river in the 30+ hours iv spent there. Am I fishing rivers Wrong or is the grand just sluggish throughout brantford?
