I was just wondering if anybody else has ventured out and around Toronto Islands with a 12 foot aluminum....thats what I got and am just a bit leery of venturing on Lake Ontario with such a small boat. Once in around the islands it would prolly be fine, but its the getting there and back to shore thats the trick...lol.

would love to try this area, but not wanting to risk my neck to get er done...lol

Not sure, but I've read something somewhere about needing a special license or permit to boat in that area... I could be wrong...

I would also check the weather reports before you go out since I'd hate to be in a 12 ft if the waves start kicking up! ;)

well thats good to know guys, thanks, cuz I'm not gonna bother with getting another stupid permit! There is plenty of other places tthat are just as good or better...no extra permit required.

I can understand the reason for it , I guess, for you have to understand the rules when dealing with all the other water traffic in that area...but not for me.

Yeah I heard its a little expensive, and that you have to do a written test aswell as actual boating test in the harbour. blackblade, as for other places, I think you hit it bang on, there's plenty of other places that are a lot cleaner & not to mention a lot cheaper ;)
