for the floar guys---when the waters get low in the rivers in summer do you still float fish with the pinner? i mean is this more of a fall and spring , in relation to the trout and steel run, kind of method or type of fishing?

Used it for river smallmouth bass, brookies in Algonquin and up in Nipigon with success over the summer. Also went out with a few buddies for carp and we ended getting into some in late June on the pin.

Are you actually drift fishing for carp on the pin or bottom bouncing ?

Ive learned how to hold O's with my hand and just feed the line on my CP and can cast essentially as far as I could a spinner (within reason). I am going to take my CP out on my 6'6 this summer for walleye and bass, just to try it out and have fun with it. Why not right? Only ever caught steel and nooks on it.

I use my centerpin only for drifting. For lure chucking it's gonna be a spinning reel

i gotta be honest, i was telling chrome that i cant see myself using my baitcaster or pinner ever again--the level of technical fishing is so much more exciting and rewarding...worst part i just bought a revo for the caster....it will stay new for a long time...lol i am also gonna try the CP on my shimano volteus ya ya!!

I use my pin everywhere, all the time. I use it for casting lures, jigging, drop shoting, etc. To me, the pin is the most interactive reel to use and I haven't been able to put it down, comes with me everywhere I go. I find bait casters and spinning reels boring to fight fish with, as long as you have your drag set proper all you have to do is keep reeling if you really wanted too.

Centerpinning 365.25 days a year

Do you wallis cast too? I could see the pin being alright for lure chucking if a wallis cast was used.

Side casting NADO, get good distance... not far compared to casting with a spinning / bait caster but I'll sacrifice distance for a more exciting fight. Plus, I can take pictures of my centerpin beside all the sunfish I catch
