Family is taking a trip to Niagara this weekend, thinking of trying the WP out. I have fished it a couple of times before in the fall, this is my first time in the spring.

I have a decent spinning reel and a 9.6ft Shimano salmon/trout rod, and a 13ft Shimano float rod and centerpin reel. Most of the floats I have are the Raven Balsa floats (FM and FD, 6-8gm). Don't have any slip floats.

What would be the best setup/baits to use this time of year at the WP, leader lengths etc.?

I would suggest roe and streamer flies and tie several leader varieties because water visibility down there changes often.

probably best to leave the pin at home unless you can really whip it. buy a slip bobber there like 6 dollars for a Drennan
