I recently spooled about 1/3 of my spool on my bass rod with 8lb Seaguar InvizX(originally for steelhead), the reason is I had a tangle in my line and ended up cutting a lot of my original line off. What I have under it is 12 lb. Trilene XT. I plan to use this rod for all types of bass fishing techniques (plastics, spinners, spinnerbaits, topwater etc.) and did some research about fluorocarbon. I found out that it sinks more than braid and mono, I tried this setup once the other day and my Vibrax did seem to sink fast. Will this line be good for all types of bass fishing? If not, what should I spool about 1/3 of my spool with (the backing is 12lb Trilene)? I fish in varying depths.

I think it would be okay for most types of fishing because you want the bait to sink. With top water it works ok because the lure has enough buoyancy to keep afloat. The only thing i can think where fluorocarbon would be bad is wacky worming as it will make the worm sink fast, how much faster I do not know.

i only use flouro as a leader. found it terrible for mainline.for bass i like braids. 15 or 20 lb powerpro or suffix 832,with a 3-10 foot flouro leader. keep the abrazX for leader material. i love that stuff.

I use Floro all the way and have no issues with it at all as for sinking with rubber baits just a matter of hook size and split shot combonation that being said if your doin a bow run you don't want to junk up the line or they will see it coming.
