I'm relatively new to fly fishing - but it's definitely got my interest for next year.
I was checking out some fly fishing videos on Vimeo, and came across this short film about a guy attempting to catch and land a Tarpon.

This looks absolutely crazy!

Have any of you ever tried something like this? Were you successful?

Personally, I've never been salt-water fishing, but it's now on my bucket list :)

Freakin wild trip...

My stomach jumped into my mouth when I saw his reel come off the rod....

great vids, thanks for sharing, gotta love the silver kings. One dropped reel and one broken up rod with some new sections, remember to bow :)

I went fly fishing for tarpon and snooke in the flats at Cancun. Didn't get any tarpon but I got some nice jacks and stuff.

Here's another sick one...
bring out the 12 weight brothers!!

Nice follow-up vid.
Yeah, that looks like a crazy sport. Especially during that instant right after the strike where you have all that line stripped and just hanging there when the fish goes running. Id hate to think about what would happen if you had it wrapped around your wrist or leg or something!
