Personal preference.

I personally fly fish for residents and float fish the runs. Didn't want to neglect my pin by going all fly fish, And didn't want to buy a new fly rod for the bigger and stronger lake-run fish.

x2 on the personal preference. Getting cooler,I like the pin and early spring.Little nicer weather, the fly rod is out. Not much overlap for me.

Can't forget the fly rod for small stream and creek fishing. That's a blast!!!!

I actually picked up a cheap brand-less tenkara for that (or atleast I think it's brand-less. If there's a brand on there I can't read it lol). . Can't wait to try it out next year lol, hopefully it wont snap in 100 pieces on it's first fish!
