Hey guys, been biking a lot lately to get to local fishing spots but have had a hard time finding the best method to carry my rod(s) to the creek or river! My 5wt is a 4 piece and my 8wt is a 2 piece but I use my 5wt 80% of the time. Do any of you guys bike to your fishing spots? Looking for something I can maybe throw over my shoulder or back to make it easy to jump on my bike and get fishing! Just thought I would see if anyone has any ideas!!

cheers

I would build a couple of cases from PCV tubing and before putting the bottom end cap on I would drill a hole above where the end cap would fit and attach a rope by inserting through the hole and tying a knot in the rope so it won't pull out and do the same at the other end, but leaving that end open, Envision an arrow quiver and you will get my idea. Best of luck.

I always use my camelback backpack. I strap the tube in on the side of the pack and the rest of my gear / food / water bladder in the bag and Bob's Your Uncle!

Was going to suggest making something out of PVC but staffman's idea beats mine. Just put the rod sleeve in the tube, wide enough tube for however many rods you want to carry and you're laughing. For the longer rod, I would drill the holes offset to one side of the tube, if that makes sense. That way when you sling it over your back, the tube extends up and not down around your tires and pedals.
