Is there any one on the forum who could direct me to someone who evaluate an old Hardy Spey Rod?

Sent me a PM if you know someone.

Doing this for a friend.

Which model ? They were making spey rods before USA and Canada new that spey rods even existed rod. :) So it would be hard to give you feedback since there is so many models.

I prefer the term two handed rod over "spey" rod. Maybe if you have the model and details TroutCommander might be able to help you.

Spey rods were developed in scotland on the river spey, hence the name spey rod.

I would say take the rod into wilsons, but i think they are still shut down

"Spey" fishing is a north American term. They're called salmon rods in Scotland.

the first written mention of the term spey rod/fishing is in a book written in 1895 by a british author called the salmon fly, there are written mentions of switch rods and casting from the 1850's

whether spey rod/fishing is a north american term, is highly debatable
