Goodentight Those look awesome and finished in time for the bass season. Now you will have to post the fish you catch with them for us to see. Are those poppers soft foam?

Thanks man.

The heads are just the perfect popper heads yeah.

I didn't buy the kit because I heard those kit hooks are $#1t. I just used a gammy 3.0 (I think, id have to check) and to get them to stick I wrapped in thread and then zapped into the popper. They ain't movin lol

I also have a bunch I didn't post. Would a pike ever hit these? (white/red or that black one?)

well, they get cheaper as you go.

I bought a sharpie 8 pack kit that cost me 20$, but that will last forever...

foam heads are approx 40 cents each, the eyes cost a bit, hook costs a bit, hackle costs a bit etc etc etc.. I dont know. I just enjoy building them! Going to try them out soon.......

Took a stab at the Durham Ranger and a GH this weekend.

I'm fairly happy with the Ranger, but I think the floss could have been a little bit smoother, the jungle cock is a little high on the side and I don't really like how the head turned out (I had a nicely shaped herl head and had finished the fly but then realized I forgot my horns. After razor blading the head to put them in it got a little messy.)

On the GH I found the wing to once again to have too much taper (tail may be a little long as well). The floss again is a little rough, the roof ended up getting split on top and the far wing is just a tad shorter than the near. After I had gotten to the throat I looked back and somehow I found that the tail veiling on the near side had also collapsed. The tippet is stripped on one side and it got trapped in the wing for the photo but I've pulled it out with a bodkin since.

hey is that a certain blue tail feather on that ranger that you may or may not have found a couple weeks ago while wading ? ;)

Thought I saw an Atlantic mission on your blog. My bad, maybe it was a BC steelhead trip?
