Fly tying table ideas?

I like the first one with the storage. I think you could dress up any desk with bark trim, antlers or make them out of barnboard, but it is much more important to give a lot of thought to where you want stuff positioned at hand, your vise, your light, etc. For instance the second desk shown (more of a table) would not be good for a clamp-on vise.
Here are some other images anyway - just FYI.

Thanks for the input guys, haven't given much thought into the functionality of the table just yet... for now I'm just shopping around for ideas. Really liking the idea about incorporating the vice into the table. I was thinking to cut a hole on the actual work table ( either circular or cut out in the shape of a trout ) that would have a garbage bin beneath it... once I'm done my tying session I would simply push all the left over material into the hole - simple easy clean up.

Love that idea as well! There was a post on another board about the antler thing, I'll see if I can dig it up.

Oh my - now that is something beautiful... I was thinking of using them as decorations but damn thats a wicked idea... Glad I posted this thread

I love that antler holder; I'm definitely going to make one...

No kidding - problem is I got stuck reading about living edge tables and tree trunk side tables last night. I did get around to drawing something up after a few rough sketches. I'm pretty happy with it but my original plan using birch went out the window because I dont want to wait for the wood to properly dry before putting the table together - I decided I'll still use birch as accents around the table however I'll mostly be using scrap 2x4's which I'll cover with cork bark. I THINK thats the final idea but I'm still gonna drink and smoke over it.

FG - the cave is half museum, half amusement park... a bitch to dust but well worth it. Its a real mess at the moment but once things settle I'll get a couple pics or have an OFF get together here... only rule is no one leaves sober

I'm no carpenter but I have a soft spot for notching. Pretty labour intensive though haha but it would last you foverever.
