French River , Alban Ontario

Hi ,, new member from Montreal Quebec,,

Never fished the French River ,, going late June to early July,,, SMB, LMB, Pike, Musky Walley , what can I expect ?

It was a few years ago but a friend and I rented a boat in Alban. We were planning to camp on crown land, which we did.
Forgot to bring a net. After losing 2 enormous Pike I said go back to the marina to buy one! I bought the net but we really didnt need it for the next 3 days. Did get some Smallies, 'eyes and smaller Pike tho ( 2-5 lb ) heard of Musky but didnt see any. Added bonus was we got some very nice Bowfin.

Thanks for the reply Alfie, I have been fishing Abitibi region for last 30 years mainly Walleye and Pike , now that a few more species are added to the fix and its on an Island and no Bass Pro Shop around ,, lol, I thought I'd stock up a few extra tails ,,

Yes. We camped on the island.
I'd love to do it again. Maybe I will. Those pike we released wont be smaller

Cool,, you should go,, I have been doing my homework on this Camp we are staying for a week this coming June and the fishing is extremely good ,,, Musky , Walleye , SMB , Pike ,the French River has it all ,, So the camp owners say,, lol
