French River

Guys,
I have booked a fishing trip with a couple of buddies with Bears Den on the French River in late Sept.

I have canoed the french several times but I have never fished it There are bass, walleye and pike. I am just getting into fishing I have a small but decent collection but was wondering what would be your go to on the French River Delta?

I have relied on past experinece on:

- Mepps (#2 & #3)
- Rapala (assorted - Shad Rap, diver, dive jointed, shallow, shallow jointed, ect.....)
- Topwater - Hulabopper, jitterbug (several variations)
- assoted jiggs
- assorted worm harnesses

Hey,

I usually fish the Upper French. You've mentioned some good baits ie., jigs and harnesses. Also look into lindy rigs and drop shoting techniques with minnows or gulp alive. Deadly for smallies and walleye hanging in drop offs, 20FOW.

Rapala Husky Jerk Baits - Firetiger colour works for Bass, Walleye and Pike
Various Plastics: Tubes and Slammers for drop shotting, senkos
Spinnerbaits
Tungsten Jigging Spoon
Erie Dearie
