Hey Wayne,

Just like you I'm new to the forum and this is my first post as well. From looking around at other forums and talking to some people out there on Frenchman's Bay they all say you can catch some pike and perch. The pike are usually taken on live bait (minnows) 2 feet off the bottom. The catches are supposedly few and far between, so don't expect to be pulling them in all day long. All the ice fishing that I have seen there happens just around Bruce Hanscombe Memorial Park on the west side of Frenchman's Bay because everywhere else is a circus. If you go on the weekend expect to see a winterwonderland of people playing on the ice with their snowmobiles, dirt pikes, and atvs.

I usually fish frenchman's in the summer with my buddies and over the few years of goin there we've caugh a bunch of fish: bass, pike, carp, but mostly small perch.

Hope that helps,
Piotr

Can someone that knows what their doing tell me the best place to shore fish on the bay and what kind of tackle and lure or bait to use, like just a quick tutorial of the basics of fishing frenchmans bay.
