I've been lurking this forum for quite some time now and have learned quite a bit of tips and tricks from the members here. I figured it was time to become somewhat active in the fishing community!

I recently ramped up my fishing game in the last 2 years or so, previous to that I haven't gone in probably more then a decade, and man has the lakes and rivers I used to fish ever changed. I look forward to continue learning new tips and tricks and possibly get into some tourney fishing.

Nice that you've come out of the shadows...you guys are kind of creepy...

I don't think its that creepy lol, i'd rather search and read about things before I ask simple questions that can be answered with a few minutes of looking. I am a frequent contributor of other forums (mostly car forums) and I know how annoying it can be to have a new member sign up and ask the same questions over and over again so I try not to be 'that guy' haha.

I don't take many pictures when I go fishing since I haven't really caught anything worth taking a picture of although I do have a few kicking around that I will post up in the near future. I am planning to take my girlfriend out in my boat this saturday, most likely to fish the holland river or possibly my lil bass spot that I frequent in stouffville and I will be sure to take pictures of my trip and post em up.

She's alright to fish with, well she is alright in general lol. Last time we went fishing together was at last years camping trip and she caught the most and biggest out of all of us guys lol! To be fair, she spent more time fishing with my stuff cause she kept getting her stuff tangled or snagged "by accident" but never seemed to have an issue with my gear lol

Be careful with these excursions......I have taken my wife on many fishing trips for salmon. One year as time stamped on the photo shows she hooks into a 47.9 pound king salmon.....My PB was this year of 45lbs. 2.9 lbs shy of tying her PB. Every king salmon season when I tell her I caught one she asks if it was bigger than hers. I sadly respond..."no". She loves saying "Mine is still bigger." That to a guy is no bueno! Hahaha.. I love this pic and remember that day like it was yesterday. She fought it well and landed a great fish.

Ya thats exactly what happened on our camping trip, all the guys were none too happy about it. Whats worse is I usually get roped into helping everybody fix their equipment/bait hooks/tie lures on more then I get to fish myself but its all in good fun

A little blush but still very good table fare. I caught a 21lb that day that looked like a minnow next to hers.

You mean you ate that thing

Sorry but aside from the coloring up of it the level of toxins in that thing would be through the roof! Doesnt matter how clean the water that fish came from is there are only two places a fish like that belongs...back in the water or up on your wall!

Heck yea I ate that thing! :) Now, I wouldn't keep it but not for fear of toxins. I will not keep any BIG kings anymore. I have released my fair share since then. I keep kings in the 20lb or less range and eat them. Mainly now straight from the ocean. I think the benefits of eating salmon out weigh the negatives. This was a wild Alaskan sea run salmon. Not a farmed fish, or from a hatchery. Yes I know they still have toxins but what really doesn't? Salmon is a staple in my diet. Be it King, cohos, sockeyes or what not. I eat salmon twice a week sometimes more. That's what the salmon season up here is for....to fill the freezer.
