So I'm getting pretty fed up with this sh!t, a week of no rain in the east means gin clear waters right? well apparently not, these pictures were taken earlier today (Sat Sept 27) the last bit of rain we had was on Sunday!

head of a pool approx 3-5ft of water

A fish in the rapids, approx 1ft of water, wait theres a fish there? the dark line in the middle-ish is a dorsal

this system takes 2-3days max to clear from an ALL day drenching, this is 6 days AFTER 2 hours of rain! how is this NOT affecting the spawn?

i've also seen pictures on a different system that has a generator sitting in the middle of the creek leaking fuel and oil into the water, its sole purpose is to run the pump for the concrete bridge footings, to get rid of the water sitting in them, which is then pumped directly back into the creek, this is at one of the hw 7 construction sites.

I talked to one of the managers at hard co about this, and he said when they are working within or close to water that needs pumped out, they must have discharge a set distance from the creek/river, and have it discharged into a filter bag. at this 407 site, its a pipe with 4 holes cut into it running across the creek

shit like that really makes me wonder

Looks like construction water for sure - probably will be like that for sometime...

Yawn... Call MNR TIPS, make sure this is legal.
If it is disrupting a waterway it probably isnt.

Alfie.

Billion dollar project like the 407 extension... pssh, like hell anything will be done about it. We called MNR on saturday morning inquiring about it and they straight up said that there's nothing they can do.

yep, the project no one wanted done, that our brilliant ontario government said everyone wanted done, that has now displaced thousands of people from their homes and ruined countless acres of prime farmland tell me again how this is a good thing?

407 is a ripoff.

its existence is the essence of corruption in the Ontario Gov

but will anyone complain when people are enjoying the faster way to the east...there's doing something and doing something right.

I still fished that water a few times this month. Was awesome in a couple ways, 1 way is that there were no other fisherman around. They would take one look at that chocolate milk and run away! Another reason it was great was because you could literally stand 2' away from a pool of 10+ fish and not spook a thing. Challenging to fish but still was able to haul out some chinook in those waters as well as some resident rainbows.

Honestly, if that chocolate milk bothers you, you can easily drive 15 minutes east or west and find a clear creek to fish but you'll have to share it with all the other loogans!

I hope the 407 gets completed, I think it will help getting east that much faster for the pre-sept30 open areas
