So yesterday I went to the reservoir at G. Ross Lord Park, let me tell you how it went. Firstly, the park was an absolute mess, this includes the water. I followed the shore along, fishing at various spots starting at the point of the reservoir which is closest to Dufferin and Finch (East of Dufferin). The bait I used included nightcrawlers, some of those "Emerald Minnows" (the dead prepackaged minnows, dont ask my why i have them), and a couple jigs (at this point i was quite bored so I just started casting).
I went here in hopes of catching some suckers, because I don't really know a good place to catch them (for catfish bait). I found out about this area from the posting that the MNR posted about the GTA fishing spots (don't have link but google it and I'm sure it'll pop up). Anyhow, my friend and I caught absolutely nothing, besides pulling up bits of plastic with every cast. This aggrevation was compounded due to, not only were we fishing and pulling up garbage, we were standing in it too. So my final verdict would be 0/5 stars, and no, I will not be returning. The sucker hunt continues...

you got the etobicoke creek. go there.

or try the humber tons of them in there now. try your luck you might catch a water snake as i saw one last night.

The humber is definitely good for suckers. Bonus is you can wander down below bloor street and immediately use them as bait. Not that I've ever actually done any catfishing, I'm just sort of assuming they're in there. The Humber and humber marsh looks to be perfect channel habitat

Thats Actually Funny You Mention That. Saturday Evening I Saw A Decent Size Species Swimming Up Stream(thought It Was A Snake But Thinking Back The Girth Was To Wide) In The Shallow Making Its Way Up Stream. Wish I Had My Fishing Rod Instead Of Walking The Dog <_<

You will not find sucker there, also jigs are useless there too. This place , G Ross now hold very small mount of small fish mainly.

Few years ago, you could catch O.K. size carp there, sometimes up to 3 - 5 kg, some brown bullhead and sunfish. However, reservoir was completely drained out , last year I believe, and now there is a lot of very small carp there, small meaning few inches. But carp grows fast and they will be bigger this year.....

That is false, my friends. I was fishing at G-Ross Reservoir last night and caught 4 carps (2-3 kg), and a smaller bass. Use corn and be patient, THERE IS some big ones there. Altogether, it's a decent place with lots of spots to choose from. I've been living in this area for a while but always went out of town to fish until now...

PS: If you drive up to Major Mackenzie/ Bathurst, there is even bigger carp in a pond there.
