Help Support Ontario Fishing Forums:

Lately I've been taking a bunch of meal replacement bars and some water. I definitely won't take fast food anymore. I lost about 70 pounds since June and I'm not going back

good for you. my diet for the summer has started also :D

Rain-Bow that is incredible!

At home I usually have an egg tomato and cheese sandy prior to hitting the water and I bring along a pb n j or something similar, as well as some brewskis. Camping its jerkey, spitz, and granola! In either case I'm trying to leave the smokes behing this year!

Heres a light snack we had in the hut on sunday, Sausages with peppers and potatoes...complimented with some tequila and red wine

When on close to home outings I don't usually eat much. Water is a must for me and two bottles usually suffices. On fishing trips where we camp out for the weekend our tradition is to have some sort of sausage/hot dogs the night of arrival. The next evening after a long day of fishing steaks with Montreal steak seasoning is always on the menu.

I remember one trip where a little too many adult beverages were consumed and I had one heck of a night. The next morning was awful. I geared up slowly and launched the raft with my buddy. I was sick all day but still fished. I didn't eat a thing all day. We have a cooler with beverages and sandwich fixings on the raft but all I could handle was water. By the time we made it back to camp I was feeling better and was ready to cook the steaks and chow down. When I began eating I started haveing little shakes becuase of all the richness and nutrients that I didn't get all day. One of the best steaks I have had. lol

When fishing in cold weather I keep a flask of crown royal with me. Just a sip here and there in cold weather keeps the chill off.

you guys are making me hungry. for me sometimes a ham and swiss from tims. sometimes a bag of chips (salt andd vinegar only, wont touch any other flavour). my buddy was laughing in the fall when i whipped out a couple egg rolls and fried shrimp leftover from takeout the day before. any time its below 0 i have my small thermos of tea, or a couple cokes when above. water when its hot as hell but still a coke aswell (bigtime cokehead) no booze gave it up. but if my smokes get wet im out. made some funny trades for smokes on the bank over the years

our latest go to fishing snack has been frying fish right on the ice in the hut! done it a few times now, AA has the right idea with those types of heating devices! They are way more useful than the mr heaters etc. Nothing like a "shore" lunch LOL

Usually a Cliff bar, I know a lot of you guys think they're bad luck but a banana a day keeps the doctor away, and some kind of sandwich, water. Jack links, hmmm never thought of that I love the sweet and hot flavour or original. Gorp- good old raisins and peanuts.

It goes in the sled, which travels with the pop up. Can't beat the flavour of a cast iron skillet lol.

x3.

I've done portage trips with a regular metal pan and portages with the cast iron and let me tell you that it is worth every bit of extra effort to bring the skillet. More temperature control...easier to clean...probably the first thing I'd chuck at a bear if I had to haha. All around winner.

I did a piece of pink salmon last night on the cast-iron, after a few strips of bacon, and it was the first time I could actually eat the skin. On my other pans, the skin ends up sticking and burning itself to the pan, even with a good amount of bacon fat in there. Came out crispy and delicious and the fillet was just right.

I often keep a bag of sour wine gums in my fishing pack while on the river. Ice and boat fishing I normally have a lunch.

I was eating some of the wine gums one time and felt what I figured was a bit of plastic, spit it out and it was a #12 daiichi
