Great to hear your Catch & Release.
Nothing wrong with keping your Legal Catch and enjoying a nice meal or Keeping one for Roe.

I personnally try to keep the C&R in the 95% + range ( I believe it make healthy stocks in pressured areas)

Anyway .... Welcome to the wonderful & frustrating world of STEELHEADING!

*SMILES*

Your in a great area (Pickering)

Both Duffins, Oshawa Creek ... Bowmanville (And any "Smaller Creeks") do have BOWS (Some browns as well).
Read the REGS (Most areas allow from the Lake Mouth up to CNR or HWY 2 (KINGSTON RD)

Thats your HUNTING GROUND!
Get out, explore ... work the water and you will not only learn but probably catch a few.

If you got some of that good ROE from Fishhead .. perfect!
You dont need to, but if you can get some fresh worms that would be added arsenal.

Keep things small & little (NO BIG PRESENTAION) and GOOD LUCK!

Post your first one soon! (No matter how big it is)

Twyn Rivers is decent at times and the Rouge is a little gem treat her right and she will definately put out for you, there is lots of fishable water just bump around and cover water generally if after a fishing a spot for 10 mins and no fish.....move on. small baits/ floats on light lines is gonna put more fish on the bank. take wind/rain and moonphases into consideration to further increase your odds. be forwarned trout and salmon fishing can be highly addictive and may lead to smelly fingers, sore arms and an extra couple thousand kms on your vehicle a year. good luck and have fun.

Been Spending allot of time in the rouge (north and south of twyn rivers) this past fall and well it isnt winter just yet is it??

up too december 31st you are allowed to fish the rouge north to hwy 407, the water is clear, and i know this river.

I have not has a whole lot of luck in the rouge river in the past 2 years.

was out yesterday and today Not wanting to give up on the rouge, but I am thinking duffins or further west is your best bet.

Good luck out there.

I have noticed this as well the stretch i am usually fishing used to put out an average of 16 fish 10 years ago ....now you are lucky to get 6. A regular to that stretch told me this year there is no natural reproduction there, which may be true. Many years ago when i CO-OP at hillside outdoor education center there were many resident coldwater species.....now it seems there is only shiners. ZERO kill on the rouge would definately help this creek

I have walked the strech around the golf course many times and haven't seen any fish of size. this is over the course of a few years too.

I used to fish duffrens in ajax there are some sweet holes there but over the years the fishing seams to have droped opening seams like the best time to pay a visit there

its nice to hear another duffins creek fisherman.

i also like to fish duffins.
i need alot of help with salmon\trout fishing
bait, tackle, presintation and time of day.....

the other place in ajax i like is frenchmans bay (at the end of liver pool)
some nice fish there.

I am from this area as well, and logged some good hours on Duffins. I seem to go for salmons in the ganny and stay close to home for the trout. good trout fishing in oshawa creek and duffins! Cobourg, wilmot, bowmanville...
