good spots from shore Scarborough area

From Scarborough you have the mouth of the Rouge river at the tip of Laurence Ave. East with a parking lot and bridge over the river (google map it). But it won't have deep water. There's also the Bluffs if you want access to deep water from shore (out by the rocks).

By big trout you mean lake trout? Catching big lakers in deep water is different from shallow fishing for steelhead.

I am curious on a good way to get into lake trout from shore. All my grandfather did was plunk a roe bag into the deepest accessible water with a bell sinker and wait and wait. I figure there are better ways to cover water than just plunking with a roe bag =P
