Was browsing BPS and decided to buy myself a new set.
Ended up getting the Tourney Special IM-7 Graphite MH 6'6" rod and Pflueger Supreme 8035MG.
Now I'm wondering if I should return the 35MG and get the 40MG, since it holds tons more line I can go after Salmon as well, when the time comes. I'll need a new rod obviously, but thats at another time.

8035MG 200 yards / 8 Lb. 6.2:1 8.8 oz
8040MG 250 yards / 10 Lb. 6.2:1 9.6 oz

What say you, oh knowledgeable people of the OFF? :)

Also, whats you think abouts me rod?

All I can say really is that when it comes to Salmon fishing for sure you need a monster size reel that can hold tons on line but over all in general do you really want to have to carry around a big real every time you head out? I know I don't.

I'd stick to the first one you already bought if your happy with it and when u get a chance pick up the larger reel for when salmon season rolls around that’s my thought!

Are you looking for a Casting setup for salmon fishing? From shore/pier ?
Not really. Guess this is going to be my all-around setup, excluding Salmon, seeing as I'd need a new rod altogether.
When I do go Salmon though, yes, I'll be on the pier/shore.

A big reel on a small rod is a nightmare. If you want to chase salmon, get a salmon outfit.
The reel you have now should fit the 6.5 rod nicely and will work on a slightly longer softer rod in the future as well.
