Gravel pits... fish paradise?!

I think I have a good question... Anyone fish gravel pits when you were younger? I know some of us have! As adults with responsibilities and a healthy reguard for not getting trespassing fines,,, has anyone ever gained permission to fish these areas... and how??? Some of my best fishing as a kid was in one of these places.. I was morified when they turned the pond up do some construction. These areas yes are privet land but should be used also as a sactuary for some fish... and if they deceide to turn it over should relocate fish..... soorry its a bit of a rant but its late What do you think?

I've fished a few pits in my day ... mainly for bass. Weekends are a good time ... no one is usually working.
I've never been fined ... sometimes just a warning.
