Great day for fishing

We went out today to the spot that prime89 put me on to. It was beautiful out by the lake. This was our second visit to the area which is just 15 minutes from our house. I never knew this fishing existed until now. On Friday I caught a 5 lb pike but wasn't prepared with a camera. I have attached a picture of today's pike as I was more prepared today. He was a little guy (2 lbs) but still had fun. We didn't see anyone else catch anything but a lot of boats in the bay. We are going to try a few more times this week after work as it is going to be really nice out as well. I will update if we catch any more.

Looks like picture didn't load. I will try again. Was out Monday and again tonight but no bites. Nobody else was lucky either and the COs were also out asking for licenses. Will try again on Thursday.

Oh man, that is an awesome catch!!! Ive been looking for some spots to fish, but sadly havent found any good ones yet :cry: . All the spots that were recommended to me
were just days of casting with no success haha. Grats on the catch!

I've been there at least 4 times this past week. The first time I went I got a small maybe 3 lb pike, then nothing the rest of the times. =(

You will have to introduce your self if you see me again. We may head out this afternoon. Yeah, nothing on Monday or Tuesday and couldn't make it out Wednesday or Thursday. I think the barometric pressure has been too high the last few days. May try up Lindsay way for crappie this weekend.

I've been in a couple of spots around lake Ontario shore and nothing....

Oh I've been skunked a lot there, it's not magical =P. Maybe I'm just a noob lol but I think there's more to it catching pike than just the spot. Of course, I haven't figured it out yet *shrugs*

It's all just timing, and a bit of switching up things, oh yeah lots of walking back n forth. Shore anglers trolling motor(s), yr legs lol.

I've been skunked there too, non magical lol.

There is also a bit of luck involved as well!! I keep telling my husband that it was because I was wearing a lucky fishing shirt and he was not. :grin: Just depends on the weather and mood of the fish as well. I have caught 3 fish there and they were all on different tackle. Moving does help as well but now we have to wait until May to fish the spot. Hopefully they will still be in the bay.
