Hey everyone. Trout opener just happened on Lake Weslemkoon the last weekend of May. Went out fishing with hubby and caught our limit of trout. Trolling with 11 lb wire line in 50 to 70 feet of water...for these trout the slower the better, we were at around 1k per hour. Used a number of crocodile spoons and williams half and half with a treble tipped with a minnow. This lake is excellent for trout and even better for bass fishing. It is 12 miles long with a 61 ft perimeter full of bays and coves, rock ledges and great bass fishing for both large and small mouth bass. Bass opener is of course coming up in June and we cant wait. There are lunker sized bass in this lake as we saw last year with a 6 and a 7 lb large mouth brought in. We have a little place with 3 cottages and boat rentals and openings for some great fishing!!! We are only 3 hrs from toronto and 2.5 hrs from Ottawa. Check us out. you will see lots of good fishing pictures in our gallery on our website at www.hiddencovecottageresort.com If you are new to fishing we sure can give you some good tips!!
