Grindstone creek

A little while ago I was talking to some guys who mentioned that there were sizable salmon runs up grindstone creek in Hamilton. Does anybody have any experience with this? I now after sept 30 part of the creek becomes a sanctuary but the mouth of the river is still open. Not too sure if I'm allowed to post the exact location but it's off of York street by the RBG

They used to run up there.

I don't think they go up the creek in big numbers like they used to.

They tend to hang out in Bayfront Park.

It's weird. Tons of salmon enter Burlington Bay, but not many run up the few creeks (like the Redhill, grindstone etc) that flow into it.
