New to Ontario fishing, and hell lures in general (back in Newfoundland it was a worm on a hook for trout and enjoy). Plan on hitting Guelph lake the weekend and I have a canoe. I understand the part south east of 124 is suppose to be nice fishing and there is a free access point to launch from. North you go through the conservation area.

I also talked to Dufferin Outdoor Supply in Orangeville (I like that place), His suggestion was white spinnerbait seam to be what the pike and bass are hitting hard in both Guelph and Orangeville. The next on the list are white, silver and red spones are getting a good hit rate.

I don't expect people to give up secrete spots, but hints on where to try out for bass or pike and lures and such would be great for guelph, but hey orangeville lake next on ls so hey post up for that as well if you know :)

Suprised no one responded but hey was out there today. Dad, wife and myself droped in the canoes off 29. We did a circle around the lower half of this area trying out close to shore, around stumps and just about any ware. Tryed a bunch if lures and besides a few nibbles by I am guessing smaller fish, we got nothing. Others fishing also had nothing except for one bass total. That said loved the location, very quiet and seams like a nice place to fish. But nope no luck. 5 pm tell 9pm oUT there. So any suggestions for next time as I am going back

Welcome aboard, I haven't fished Guelph in a long long time but keep in mind its been super hot and fishing slows down sometimes. I would try north from there and hit some other body's of water that might be more productive.
