I know its a fishermans rule to never give their holes away, however it seems like the fishing over the past few years around the halton region has been lacking. I strictly catch and release, and it bugs me watching foreigners keep panfish, baby bass and even pike by the buketloads. I have tried almost everywhere around and yet have found a honey hole for smallies / largemouth. Any suggestions would help! I fish with my uncle out of a canoe, bass and pike are usually our target.

If you don't want to post it in the thread feel free to pm me, would be much appreciated as im scouting out some places im going to try this year!

Try the residential storm ponds.. They're full of bass... Not going to give out any specific location here but part of the fun is exploring around and trying out all the different ponds... And if anyone is gonna risk filling up their white buckets, eating fish from these ponds and ruin it for everyone else, I doubt your livers will be able to process all the toxins out of your body...

At my old house in oakville, there is 2 bigger ponds that used to be loaded with smallies, however it was fished out pretty quick. Havn't been back in a few years however.
I have 2 ponds behind my house currently, however they are pretty small and have a no fishing sign posted along the path, I'll have to try it out one of these days though. Do they stock storm drain resoviors around here?

They don't but the eggs get in there somehow and bass live in.

As for the driving and finding your bass honey hole... their out there. Just have to work for it, took me almost a full summer

if you wanna take read from a topic I posted last summer....

Mind you the search doesn't stop and you won't find yourself a honey hole from asking! Trust me and I say this in all kinda of fun... search for it, drive and get frustrated because when you do find it, it'll be the best bass spot, better than all of the ones than anyone will tell you about :)

Best of luck!
