Went To Hamilton harbor on Aug 10 to try my luck catching some bigger carp. I did catch carp before but none that would satisfy my appetite for big fish like, over 20 lb.

I arrived around 7:30 Am and there were already 3 or 4 guys fishing for carp there.

- Location: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U....282142,-79.893093&spn=0.041677,0.066261&z=14
- Temperature was about 21 C in the morning while in few hours it would go up to 29 C and with humidity taken into consideration – it was like 40 C , so pretty d.. hot

- Bait used : corn, home made boilies, some store bought boilies
- Rod & reel info: well these are not brand names from Canada , so it will not help mentioning brand names , but rod is about 9 ‘ long, line .405 mm , 15.25 kg test
- Rig: hair rig

First to say, looking at my “equipment” and looking at what other carp fishermen had – I felt like caveman – equipment wise .

These guys, specialize in carp fishing and they got it all, from specialized rods, reels, rod holders, bite indicators, etc, etc.., all these can cost lot of money…

Fishing was slow, among 5 of us, from morning until about 1 Pm when I left – there where only 5 fish caught, 2 guys got 2 fish each ( one was real monster - 34 lb), I managed to get on – about 16 lb , and two guys got nothing.

Here is photo of my carp:

No fish was hooked after 11 AM, I would think because it was so hot and humid, fish did not bite . I got my PB carp, but still not over 20 lb, I got to go there again soon, and keep coming until I get big, big carp

Well done. I used to fish with guys who had the special carp equipment. They didn't out-fish me. :)
