Happy New Year OFF,
With the a clean slate upon us, what's something you want to accomplish this year in fishing? What can you actually say out loud to the rest of us, and hold yourself to it. We'll revisit this post in August and see what everyone's committed to and we'll see if we can hold you accountable.

Here's are few ideas - but we want you to commit to it by replying to this post in the box below.
  • Spend less money on tackle
  • Don't make excuses as to why to not get out on the water
  • Be more respectful of the fish and the environment
  • Take kids fishing with me more often
  • Learn a new technique
  • Travel somewhere new for a new fishing experience

Well....there's a small list of ideas to get your brain working. We understand you might be hung over from last night's festivities.

I have a couple resolutions:
- get out more
- join the Thames Valley Anglers Association and help it with anything I can
- learn to tie flies
- take a risk exploring some little tribs

Volunteer and give back to the community would be my main goal.

Become a regular/ decent user of the centerpin. Just bought my first steelheading outfit a couple weeks ago, can't wait to put it to good use!

1) This past year I landed 9 or so salmon, pier and river. Next year I'm going for at least 15.
2) Catch an atlantic (if I go to the soo or the margaree)
3) Find a honey hole to catch brookies locally
4) Don't leave a single tag end or bead peg on the ground

Might add a few more if I can think of them.

-buy less tackle and actual fishing gear.
- buy better wading jacket/boots, first layer.
-handle fish better
-stop being lazy during trips and use my knowledge to catch more fish.

Kidding Happy New Year to everyone, will try and master two handed so I can use it like Indiana Jones whip and snag people's sandwiches...I get hungry out there... try to give back to the resource and edumicate some loogans

I will as I have always done carry the garbage of idiots to proper disposal.
I am gonna introduce a kid to fishing, my 4 1/2 yo nephew. I have some gear for him and my sis and bro-in-law who don't fish want to do some camping trips this summer so I can get him to the waterside :)
Catfish, I know you are in my area, Specks are my fav. I would be happy to find some new spots or explore some I haven't visited for a number of years.
Finally, I have recovered from some hard times the last 2 years. I will travel to the Nipigon region at the end of Aug to seek a PB Speck.

Happy New Year all.

Alfie.
