Hello.

Just wondering...

What brand/model GPS you are using? and what maps do you have ?
What car mount do you use ?

I have Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx

Magellan 500LE, ontario topo map. no car mount. main reason I bought it is just to map good spots on lakes and in case I ever get lost up north:)

Garmin etrex legend with mapsource topo and metroguide. Works well for me.

Does your eTrex Legend have AutoRouting feature? If so, you can hack MetraGuide to be able to autoroute, eh?
This is unless you have the old version of MetroGuide Canada v4.

I have a manual Gps; commonly called a map.Seems to work pretty good and the batteries never run out.

LOL, I used one of those once until the wind got ahold of it.

I have a garmin streetpilot c330, i have to say i have found more creeks and corys that are on back roads that i didnt know were their because they wer blocked by trees. It works awesome, the only crappy thing is i have yet to find a way to hack it and not have to pay for an update straight from Garmin, o well it will happen.

With the price dropping on Garmin nuvi's ... maybe better off buying a new nuvi with new map on it!

I don't have a GPS, but it sounds like I should have one. I'm now interested.

Ways of finding/documenting new fishing locations?

How do you guys use GPS?

when you're at your location simply save that spot in your GPS as a point of interest. on mine i could even label it with a name.

Openfire,
you should get yourself a handheld unit.
Garmin brand is excellent.

Make sure to let me know before you buy anything*

I was on the bass pro shop web site and they have some good pricing on some Garmin Gps units at the Vaughan store, so if you were planning to get one, now might be a good time.

i just bought the garmin nuvi 250w a couple weeks ago and love it.it was on sale at future shop for $229.if anyone is going to buy one i would suggest paying the extra money for the 4.3" wide screen like this one, also do a review on line of a model you are looking for,you will find alot of pros and cons.good luck!!

I have a tomtom Go 510. Its really good and reliable when you want go from a to b without looking at a map. the only problem is that being legal is very expensive.

How do you get the bass pro shop website to show in Canadian (vaughan) price?

If you are interested in a handheld GPS...

Check out Garmin eTrex Legend HCx. BassProShop (Vaughan) has it for $189.88
That is a great deal for a good handheld gps.

You should google it and read some review on it.
