Heading up to Stony Lake

This weekend. Super stoked! Hoping to land my first Bass. Have access to a Jon boat, canoe and kayak. Should be interesting! Will report back...

Great weekend! Landed my first Large and Smallmouth Bass, couple Perch and a couple Pumpkinseed. Fished topwater, shallow cranks, worms (texas and shakey head rigged), floating minnows. Best performer bay far was the square bill. The Bass just loooved it.

Had two lunkers on but lost them on the retrieve. Could that be the size of the crankbait, it was a 2.5" - 1/8oz? I saw one right in front of me just turn it's head super quickly and that was it, lure just flew off. Come to think of it i should check the hooks.

What a weekend. Excited to get out again.

Were you using strike king square bills? if so it would have probably been the hooks

I'm going up there this weekend. Any shore spots my son and I can fish from safely? Hoping to land some smallies. I was gonna start at Burleigh falls. If I don't get any bites does anyone know of any other spots near by? Thanks
