Hello,
I tried to find at stores a heating stove with exhaust pipe for ice fishing in the shelter, but can't find any.
The reason why I want exhaust pipe - is to minimize a chance to get CO inside the shelter.
I would like to have a propane burner in the stove.

Something like that - http://www.amazon.com/TMS-STOVE-2346-Portable-Military-Camping/dp/B002XNWC8A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1447254144&sr=8-1&keywords=tent+stove

Besides DIY, does anybody know where I can buy this kind of heating stove here in GTA?
Thanks.

Most ppl use a Mr. Buddy style propane heater, since any decent ice fishing hut should come with built in ventilation, in addition to extra windows that you can open or close, as well as the door that you can also leave open for even more ventilation.

If there was a need for what you are describing, it would probably already exist in the marketplace.

I appreciate for sharing your pic...
I want to start taking my 6 year old son to ice fishing, that's why I need to make the shelter as safe as possible.
I guess an open flame heater has a higher risk to eliminate CO, than one with exhaust pipe.

I guess I will have to make a stove by myself, diy project.

Been ice fishing 25 years with a single burner propane stove. Never had a problem with co2. Most shelters have vents so just open one up.
thanks.
You meant CO carbon monoxide, right?
It's enough to get 1-2 breaths of CO to die...

Yep I meant CO. I'm well aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide as I work in an industry requiring open flame winter heat. Even got poisoning one time really bad on the job. A little one burner stove on low doesn't put out much emissions. Just have to open the vent or door once in a while and change he air. Maybe I'll bring my personal Co detector out on the ice one day. It has a digital display of the CO concentration

If you will do that, could you please share the CO values here? Thank you!

Sadly tragedies do happen.
For your own piece of mind .
On a windless sunny day you and your son can have a great couple hours on the open ice. Couple lawn chairs and enjoy.

My Coleman propane stove has done fine for me as a heater for a few years. Pop up huts have two or more vents built into them plus windows and doors, this gives you much more ventilation than you actually need. I wouldn't sleep overnight in a hut like the guys in the article you linked unless there was good ventilation.
